Cracking the market - Revamp close
An article on the Total Refinary in Leuna appeared in the January 2014 edition of the European Oil & Gas Journal. The article is entitled "Cracking the market" and was written about the complete shutdown of the Total refinery in June for the large turnaround and inspection project. The article provides detailed insights into the Mega-revamp, which was realized with a total value of € 65 million, consisting of 60 individual projects all completed with 1.2 million man-hours, in 45 days. 3,000 people and 85 cranes all working simultaneously; including EDL as engineering partner.

During this time, EDL has .... handled a large number of challenging revamp projects in Leuna including: POX, methanol, Visbreaker, alkylation and FCC ... and at present, is involved in the preparations for future projects with Total Leuna.”
