As of January 1, 2025, Michael Volkmann has been officially appointed to the management of the Vienna-based plant engineering company, where he will lead and manage the group's operations based on a new management structure. Peter Schlossnikel stepped down from his position as Managing Director and shareholder of Pörner Ingenieursgesellschaft after 42 years of dedicated service and headed off to his well-deserved retirement.

On behalf of the entire group, I would like to thank Peter Schlossnikel for his many years of dedication and wish him good health and happiness for the next chapter of his life,” said Andreas Pörner, Managing Director and now majority shareholder following the acquisition of Mr. Schlossnikel’s shares.

Experienced manager from within our own ranks

Michael Volkmann holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Vienna University of Technology and has decades of experience in process plant engineering. For 30 years, he has been actively shaping the direction of the Pörner Group as an engineer and manager. International construction sites, project execution and management as well as project acquisition have marked his career. In 2006, he established the Pörner office in Romania, which he has successfully managed since then.

"We are pleased to welcome Michael Volkmann to the management team, where he will now be responsible for the operational business of the Pörner Group. His international project experience and expertise will undoubtedly ensure that our partners and clients can continue to rely on our competence in implementing complete projects in high quality. He knows our company’s DNA inside out and has a keen eye for leadership, strategy and corporate development. Together, we will continue to lead our company securely into the future,” says Pörner.

Michael Volkmann adds: "My goal is to continuously develop the Pörner Group, building on what makes us special: outstanding, responsible project management and planning from a single source. With 30 years of experience at Pörner, I have a deep understanding of our company. I will use this knowledge to initiate changes that enhance our efficiency and drive further success. I see the challenges of the energy and resource transition as an opportunity for us as plant engineers and enablers of the transformation to smoothlycontinue our success story."
