Rating of the jury:
To reach climate protection goals it will be more and more obligatory in EU to use Bioethanol as petrol-additive. For the Bioethanol plant of AGRANA in Pischelsdorf, having an overall investment value of EUR 125 million and a capacity of 240,000 m3/a bioethanol, Pörner provided the general planning.
Starting from project development incl. support of technology selection, procurement as well as all engineering work from civil/structural engineering (performed by Pörner + Partner ZT GesmbH) through mechanical, piping, electrical and control systems up to complete partial units has been performed.
The extraordinary project development and ?processing of Pörner led to record times: an authority approval in only 7 months and an on-time commissioning in only 15 months. The US-company Katzen, technology provider for the Bioethanol-process wants to continue the cooperation with Pörner for further international projects. The jury honored the project with a nomination for the Austrian Consulting Award 2007.
