On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of JV CASPI-BITUM - a Kazakh-Chinese joint venture - a bitumen conference took place in Aktau / Kazakhstan on November 8, where Pörner gave a lecture. The scientific-technical conference connected bitumen producers, consumers - the road construction companies – as well as research institutes. The focus was on the high quality of the locally produced bitumen and the innovative solution for storing and transporting bitumen - such as the Pörner Bitumen Packing System
The business relationships between Pörner and CASPI-BITUM have existed since autumn 2018. In the summer of 2019, bitumen was first filled in Pörner Bitumen Bags in Aktau. A first batch was successfully delivered to Atyrau in NW Kazakhstan. CASPI-BITUM General Manager Erbolat Kozhabaev is very positive about the practical transport packaging in bags: "The first shipment of packaged cold bitumen is an important event for us. The quality of the bitumen is maintained and we also save money in the logistics, the delivery and storage of the bitumen. The product was successfully delivered to our customers." During filling, there was 0% leakage and also by loading and unloading, there were no problems.
Albert Traxler, General Manager of Pörner Russia said in an interview with the Kazakh news broadcaster "Khabar 24": "I hope that together with our colleagues from CASPI-BITUM we will be able to develop and implement a new logistics scheme to be able to transport bitumen reliably even over longer distances."
The bitumen packing system developed by the Pörner Group was first patented in 2006. The successful collaboration with CASPI-BITUM is further confirmation of this innovative technology.
Kozhabaev is very confident about bitumen production. Over the years, CASPI-BITUM has produced over 1.2 million tons of bitumen. An increase in capacity of the bitumen plant in Aktau is being considered as the demand for bitumen is steadily increasing. A Pörner Biturox plant would be a good solution.
