The Pörner scope of services includes licensing, pilot tests, basic engineering, supply of core components as well as commissioning support and start-up. The plant is designed for the production of road paving bitumen VG-10 to VG-40 with a capacity of 100,000 MTA. Suitable feedstock components are refinery intermediate products VR and HVGO from different crudes. The plant shall be provided with the most advanced technology for off-gas treatment and heat recovery and thus fulfills all requirements as to energy efficiency and environmental safety. The start-up is scheduled for 2014.
This 46th licensing underlines the Pörner Group’s world market leadership in bitumen oxidation technology. Even now, 50% of India’s bitumen production is made in Biturox® plants.

The Pörner Group looks forward to continuing the cooperation with IOCL. The projected Biturox® plant in Barauni is already the third license granted to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. after Gujarat Refinery in 2001 and Mathura Refinery in 2010. It is the 12th of license granting in Southern Asia.
